My brother-in-law, writes about the things he learned from the birth of each child, as inspired by a talk we had after Baby Muffin was born.
Motherhood and More talks about the benefits and highlights of Finland’s education system, something I started reading about last year and was floored to find out that they ranked number one in the world and they have the shortest school day, virtually no homework, all teachers have to have a master’s degree, they don’t start school until age 7, most classrooms have more than one teacher and work in multi-age group settings, and much more. A great BBC article too.
From the writer of Simple Gifts, who inspires me daily with her honesty and wisdom. She writes a letter here to her three young daughters about the messages we learn from the clothes that we wear. If she didn’t live in Tennessee, I would be hanging out with her everyday.
Written by an international author and recognized dream therapy expert (and also my amazing father). When I was in a rut several months ago with my art and exercise, reading and working through the exercises from this post really helped me work through my issues and get out the door and start running and painting again. Abandonment and Addictions and Abandonment Part 2: How to get to be your very best are the lead-ups. Here is what someone has written about him: The Healerman.
Last summer when I was trying to decide whether or not to homeschool, I found this blog and wrote to Renee to ask some advice. She was so helpful and inspiring and I have been following her blog ever since. In this post she talks about the massive life changes that they decided to do recently – giving up the “American dream” lifestyle with the nice house, good job, good neighborhood, in order to truly live their dreams. She is very courageous and the whole process is very inspiring.
We finally had a non-rainy Saturday last week so I made it out to Van Dusen Gardens for a photo shoot. I thought I would have missed all the spring flowers, but it has been so cold that spring is about two months late this year and I was in heaven.
