Red house, blue house. Old house, new house.

Before:

After:

During:

Lunch time.

“Where are Fiona and Will?” I ask after a while.

“I think they went to the front yard,” says Juliet.

UH OH.

“Fiona! Will! Put the paint brushes down! RIGHT NOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Too late.

They painted the house. Painted the hockey sticks. Painted the grass. And then painted each other.

  1. Ha! I didn’t notice the red grass until after I read the “during” part of this post. Still, the red looks awesome!

  2. Looks great! Can’t believe I just drove by without noticing! Can the kids do our place?

  3. That looks fabulous!! What made you choose red?? Very bold, very nice. Our friend Ian approves highly (Red being his favourite colour)

  4. Sorry, Megan, they 2 year olds’ house painting days are put on hold for about 20 more years or so.

We had to hose them down and throw away some of their clothes!

And we chose the red color because we were going for more Latin colors. We were Googling “colonial colors” and nothing we were looking for came up, so finally Chris tried Googling it in Spanish, and what do you know, exactly what we wanted showed up!

We thought we’d bring a little spice and brightness to the neighborhood!

  5. Love the new color scheme! Painting top and bottom that beautiful rich red in the front really ties the house together, and keeping the blue in the back adds some variety. Your house looks 100% better.
